Autumn pies and tasting evening

Our tasting evening this year will be on Thursday 20th November. Tickets are free as usual but if you would like to make a voluntary donation, we are collecting for The Samaritans.

This is an invitation to join us for a glass of something festive and sample some of our deli goodies, whilst planning your gifts, hampers, meals and treats.

Entry is by ticket only. Tickets are limited to 2 per person whilst stocks last and will be available to collect from Thyme from Fri 25th October.

It's half term already. As the windy weather takes over from long sunny days it's time to indulge in our real hot chocolate.
We only use Organic chocolate and milk, unless you count the added cream and mini marshmallows.

Of course it's never too cold for an ice cream milkshake. Ours are made from 3 scoops of ice cream, and local milk. Perfect for a half term treat.

Whilst you're enjoying your drinks don't forget we have a selection of books, toys and board games for  both big and little kids

We have some new seasonal pies - from Tom's pies there is a wild mushroom and chicken pie. Available to take home, cold or hot, or in our cafe served with mash peas and gravy.

We also have a pork and apple pork pie from Bray's pork pies. These delicious pork pies are also available to take home or eat in our cafe.
For a little more about Sarah and her pies read here

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Local honey & the great outdoors

We may be over the worst of the hay fever season but local honey is still popular. We had a blip with our supply earlier in the summer but i am pleased to tell you that we are now fully stocked again.

We have some lovely individual brie in stock at the moment from Godminster, these are perfect for summer picnics. I'd also recommend some Fentimanns rose lemonade, a tub of our delicious olives three little pigs chorizo and Peters yard crackers to make it extra special. If you visit us on a Friday or Saturday we will also have freshly baked breads from All you knead bakery.

Whilst the sun is still shining we are planning our winter tasting event. If you would like to be notified first of the date please join our mailing list.

Summer Summer Summer Thyme

Lots of new products in stock since i last posted on here.

We have a great range of summery cake boxes, melamine cake stands & sundae glasses (perfect for afternoon tea parties), bunting and lantern to match. The same range has a beautiful wicker picnic hamper

We are no stocking Lucy's dressings. A fab range of salad dressings. Don't worry we are still stocking the rapeseed oil dressings from Wharfe Valley Farms, (and serving them in the cafe) but we couldn't resist stocking these ones too.

We also love our new range of enamel kitchen accessories, especially the scales and the cookbook / iPad holder.

As it is definitely BBQ weather as i write this  - you should try one of the new marinades/sauces from Tabasco. I have my eye on the chipotle and cola one.

Hope to see you soon, maybe for one of our ice cream milkshakes…..

Happy Easter

With a long weekend ahead of us i thought i'd just update our Easter opening hours….

We'll be closed on Good Friday
Open 9-4.30 On Easter Sat
Closed Easter Sunday
Closed Easter Monday

We hope you all have a lovely Easter.

I will leave you with a little poem written by one of my regular customers which sums her feelings up about one of our favourite things…coffee.

"On opening a jar of coffee'"

Gentle sniff
deep inhalation
eyes close
switch flipped
sound of boiling water.
Quick stir
splash of milk
long quiet slurps
pause….

Eyes open
'What shall we do today'

''On not having a jar of coffee to open''
Eyes glazed
world turns in slow motion
approach the Deli
hints of coffee
enticing
alluring.
Legs buckle
focus blurs
helpful staff
find Java, milk
a quiet table.
Long pause.

Morning fixed.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all of our customers i hope 2014 sees you all healthy and happy.

Well I have (reluctantly) tidied away all of our Christmas Decorations until next Christmas, but don't worry our hampers are available all year round.

Orders have been a bit slow due to supplier holidays but normality has been resumed so this week we will have a new delivery of Tracklements chutneys, All You Knead breads and Lancashire tea.

Just before Christmas we had a large delivery of local honey so we have plenty in stock - useful for seasonal colds.

I look forward to a bit of warmth and lighter evenings but for now we I am making the most of Belvoir cordials winter flavours

Hope to see you soon, Amanda
