Wharfe Valley rapeseed oil

We love the dressings from Wharfe valley farm  so much we use them in our cafe. Their cold pressed rapeseed oil is produced without chemicals and makes the most delicious and yellow dressings.
They are thick enough to use as a dip too.

We also stock their rapeseed oil and have just taken delivery of their new spray rapeseed oil. Again this has been produced without using chemicals. 5 sprays is just half a syn on Slimming World too.
Personally i love the spray to take camping with me as it doesn't spill.

Summer news

We are enjoying the warm (HOT) weather here in Horwich and we have lots of lovely summery products in stock at Thyme.

We love these new 'slim' salad dressings from Lucy's

They are as delicious as her other dressings but have less sugar and less calories, so what's not to like. The light raspberry would be fantastic with goats cheese, whilst the asian would be perfect on an edamame bean salad.

Local honey is moving very fast at the moment but don't worry there will be a delivery next week to top up our supplies. Do let us know if it has helped with your hay fever symptoms.

We have some lovely products in our deli fridges at the minute, including some new vegetarian pastries from Forest foods, and summery individual savoury tarts by Tom's pies in 3 different flavours.

We have recently re-introduced afternoon tea and now sell afternoon tea vouchers which make excellent gifts. You can choose from our sweet or savoury afternoon tea for £9.95 per person. Pick up a leaflet on your next visit.

We are pleased to be stocking more local jams and chutneys from hamper cottage in Horwich. Tracey's raspberry jam is one of the best we have tried.

At the time of writing we are still accepting applicants for our manager vacancy - more details on the tab above.

Have a great summer.

The role is very customer facing so the applicant must be well presented with excellent customer service skills.
There is a lot of food preparation involved and whilst direct experience in this is not necessary, a love of good food and cooking is desired.
Other responsibilities include lots of cleaning, handling monies and banking, completing daily orders, sales,  and merchandising the retail goods.
The role provides cover for the owner and so the applicant must be able to work during school holidays.

Spring sunshine

Spring has sprung and the sun has been shining, well at least some of the time.
So our outside seating area otherwise known as the secure garden is open again.

Our local book club had their meeting outside there this Saturday ( find them on Facebook or twitter - Thyme to read) it's a lovely little sun trap.

Pudding Love

Love is in the air…well at least St. Valentine's day is.

If you like to celebrate it with someone special we have lots of lovely goodies for you.

Some favourites are Cartmel's limited edition Valentines sticky toffee pudding - who wouldn't want to share this next weekend ?

Tracklements chilli jam in heart shaped bottles is always popular, especially at this time of year. So is Godminster heart shaped cheddar. They are also the perfect match for each other.

We're also really pleased to have in stock some fabulous bavarian patisserie which is baked in Bolton. These cute little bags of treats cost just £3.50 each. Whilst stocks last.

We have lots more in stock from heart shaped cake tins to organic Valentine's truffles.
Of course if you can't decide which treat to buy - there's also the option of putting your favourites into a hamper.

Happy New Year

A Happy New Year to all of our customers.

We hope you all enjoyed the festive season and have since recovered.

If like me you are taking 2015 by the horns and starting with a diet and a dryathlon you might be glad to hear that tea pigs have introduced new tea flavours.

We have in stock…
Sweet ginger
Chocolate and mint
Apple & cinnamon
Fennel & licorice

As well as lots of other flavours. Also available to drink in the cafe.

We still have our 3 jars for £10 offer on our Olives Et Al jars. Alongside their delicious olives you can also choose 2 kinds of pesto, harissa, or dukkah ( a fab middle eastern not and spice mix for dunking or topping grilled meats).

More stock of local hooey is due for delivery next week to help ward off your winter colds but I can also recommend Belvoir cordials - their winter flavours are fabulous.
The ones we have in stock are winter berries (also available in the cafe, served hot), honey lemon & ginger, or apple, plum and cinnamon.

Perfect fodder for January are Tom's pies. Available in the cafe served with mash, peas and gravy or  alternatively to take home. Their vegetarian pies are fabulous.

Hope to see you soon …Amanda & the Thyme Team.
